Day 10 of the Valentine's Love Letters Series - Coop to Lottie

 Lottie,

I've been thinking a lot about the day we met. It was a rescheduled appointment. Did you know that?

I was supposed to have gone in the month before but the day of I had to cancel because my Jeep wouldn't start. When I came in that day, I remember asking your uncle about the new girl at the desk and he told me that you had just started that week.

It's been fifteen years since that day and I still remember every tiny detail as if it were yesterday.

I remember how you had your hair curled and the yellow sweater you were wearing. I remember that you were talking to that lady when I walked in with Wes and the moment I saw you, I just knew. I knew that you were the one for me and that I was gonna spend the rest of my life with you.

You looked up at me and I couldn't think straight. It was like every coherent thought was erased from my brain and all I could do was stand there like an idiot.

Even now, sometimes when I look at you, I'm back to being that same star struck kid.

Your smile still brings me to my knees, and I want to spend the rest of my life doing whatever it takes to put a smile on your face.

You and the kids give me reason to get up every morning, and when I think about how it all started, I'm so glad that I had to cancel that first appointment. If I hadn't, I don't even want to think about how my life might have turned out.

I love you more than words could ever say.

Happy Valentine's Day.

Love, Emmett
